Episode 3 - "Revenge Of Cinelerra" - April 13, 2008

A new episode is out! (Resisting the urge to say "Finally!") The show is now in HD format although not full HD quality since I doubt any of you would want to download a file that big. I finished up the Cinelerra tutorials by going over Rendering and Transcoding. I also made some changes in the format of the show and in the media types I am supporting. Not to mention the streaming version of the show is now on Vimeo! Check it out in the Episodes section.
Also, see the my rendering and transcoding examples here.

welcome back & kick ass!

My podcatcher's been uber moody this weekend,

But at least I don't feel like a total knob by having Firefox eat my comment: how come? Cause I'm not gonna babble as much as I usually do(but you have to expect some from a blonde).

I just wanted to say thnx for another awesome episode; esp. for Cinelerra's 4th tutorial. I hope this means that we'll be seeing more of the_source more often. I know you don't want to let down fans of "the open news show" by leaving it behind. But I'm glad to see more, way more, of the_source. &I'm even more happy that you've decided to follow your passions &create content in. about, &in the format that you're so passionate about.

Lastly, and again, thnx for being a continued source of inspiration &motivation when it comes to my producing my own "open source art" podcast. Any ways I said I wasn't gonna babble to much, &I won't. Just thnx again. &Huge thnx for sharing your ffmpeg transcode commands. I can stop pulling my hair out.

Take care,
Kaity G. B.

P.S., loooking forward to releasing my own podcast but far more; looking forward to when I can join the_source w/the 2nd open source video podcast.

Kaity, Thanks for the kind

Kaity,

Thanks for the kind words. I think I will be able to get more episodes out more quickly now. Good luck with your podcast!

Cinelerra HV vs CV

Hi Aaron, First thanks a lot for providing such a great video tutorials on Cinnelerra. Didn't find such material anywhere on youtube or any other video sharing sites. I have a question though. Does Cinelerra CV has all those effects provided in Cinnelerra HV (herionewarriors) version? Such as motion tracking, displaying histograms, two screen edits etc? Can you shed some lights on that? Is HV version better than CV? Is it similar functionality if I use HV? I hope all those functionalities are in CV version as well. thanks again Nikhil

RE: Cinelerra HV vs CV

HV put out a new version a few months ago, but I don't think the community version is going to incorporate those changes. In my opinion the community version is still the best version to use until Lumiera is working and stable. Cinelerra CV interoperates much better than the HV version, and it's the version I use currently. Aaron
