Compiz Fusion On Fedora 8

As you may already know I run Fedora on my desktop machine where I do all my editing (I am running Ubuntu and OpenSolaris on my laptop). I upgraded to Fedora 8 today and it was well worth the effort. One pain point, however, was getting compiz-fusion running correctly. You can easily enable wobbly windows and the desktop cube from the Preferences menu, but I have been running Beryl on Fedora Core 6 for a year and a half and need a little more bling than that.

I found that the best way to get everything running correctly was to follow the instructions here using the "Unoffical Packages" method. This gets you up to the latest very quickly and easily. For those of you used to the Beryl Settings icon on your taskbar you will find the Fusion Icon very familiar and easy to use. Enjoy!
