Episode 2 - "Attack Of The Elephants (Dream)" Released ... Finally
We finally got around to releasing another episode. This time we talk to Bassam Kurdali of the blender project and we have the much anticipated Cinelerra tutorial #3 in which we discuss how to do video effects. Cool
Aaron, I was excited to see this pop up in my aggregator. Looking forward to checking it out.
Some suggestions
Hi guys,
I have seen your latest episode and I have some suggestions which I hope will be useful to you:
Reduce the length of the opening intro. It is Waaaaay too long.
Split different topics (interview, program tutorial) in separate episodes. This makes it easier for you to make an episode. It also makes it easier for us to find a specific topic.
Maybe try to have a little less casual look. You know, a nice shirt, shaved beard, and a necktie maybe?
These are the ideas I had while watching your last episode. Keep up the good work!

Thunder, Thanks for the
Thunder,
Thanks for the suggestions! We totally agree on some of these so look for some changes soon.

Cinelerra
Hi Aaron,
I've enjoyed the newest video. (I agree with the long intro comment. But appearances are secondary, I feel) As I usually view the tutorial for Cinelerra several times, I write down its time and "bookmark" it that way. I have been playing a bit with Blender too, so the interview was really interesting.
I find the visuals of your screen really important. In the last video (3rd), I was not getting a pop up window that you were getting (the xyz settings). So, I played with a few buttons, and got it to appear by activating the question mark. Comparing it with your screen view, I saw that the button I had found was indeed highlighted on your screen.
A similar thing happened when I tried to drag and drop from the resources, and it was not working. This was because there is a drag and drop button on the main window which had to be set.
These are just a few items where I got stuck. It's impossible to include all these little notes in the video, so I thought writing them here might be helpful. However, since I am new here, I am not sure whether comments should be in the mailing list or here.
Rose
Thanks for the comments
Thanks for the comments Rose! It sure is easy to leave out the little things sometimes. Hopefully others will read this and save some hunting.

*kick booty*... please don't let it be so long.
welcome back boys,
and with a killer episode, that even though it took me forever to catch on to, *shrugs* i'm a blonde. i'm really glad to see you back. its your guy's iptv show that originally(i.e. a few months) made me want to start video blogging. now while i'm still working on getting v4l setup to work with my usb based web cam.(hey i've gotta start somewhere!) but i had to say huge thnx for all your work awesome show &i can't wait for the next episode.
then like i said i'm starting my own podcast. i'm focusing my podcast on open source web app development & web2.0. now of course since you guys inspired me to even start thinking about podcasting i'd love to be able to interview either one of you for my inaugural podcast. email me, pretty please?
&dbl thnx again for all your hard work into this episode... i can't wait for episode 3.
Hello Aaron
It's hard to learn about Cinelerra - A single movie please!
Curiously I wanted to post about the same problem: Lack of a focused video on Cinelerra.
The subject is so scattered around that it is impossible to locate the episodes (and in the needed order).
To begin with, Cinelerra's GUI and workflow are absolutely confusing (being corrected in its revamped fork, Lumiera). Till Lumiera is available, we will have to learn and use Cinelerra. But there are no good documentation or video tutorials on the net for Cinelerra (compare that with Openshot). So I'd hate to see perfectly good material wasted like this!
What we need is a single video on Cinelerra (maybe stitched together from the older episodes; and then some more stuff added). Presentation-wise, I prefer what the Blendercookies videos show: ONLY the screencast of the application, and no mugshots of the presenter. :)
