I am hearing a lot of bad press over the MP4 players on the market today. Also, there appears to me an issue with overall tech support for these newer products "IPods, MP4 players, ...".
What is your overall opinion, if any, on the support issues?

Yeah, there have definitely been problems along the way. I have heard both good and bad things about Apple's support. Other companies might do a little better. My iPod Nano works great except that it is scratched up pretty good from the times that I have used it out of it's protective case. Honestly, if I had not won my Nano in a raffle I probably would have bought something else since I don't like being tied into iTunes. Right now I am waiting for a decent player that will play video and audio without breaking the bank. Cowon is doing some interesting things with their iAudio series. Also, the Nokia 770 is a great all around device especially if you want something you can hack on.
