Panucci
I just wanted to take a minute to direct people who have a Nokia Internet Tablet to the Panucci Audiobook and Podcast Player. This is a great app that I have been using for a while now. It will automatically resume large audio files from where you last pressed the pause button even after you close the application or shutdown/restart the tablet. This is great when you are listening to a 22 hour audio book or even a 1 hour podcast and you only have a 40 minute commute. The new version will also remember your volume settings and the last folder you opened a file from. There is also a progress bar that you can tap to jump anywhere in the file. For gPodder users you can set Panucci as your default audio player if you wish. Check it out and donate to the author if you like it!

Can't Get Panucci Installed
I have been trying to install Panucci on my N810 for the last two nights. Each time I try I get a message that I need to have python2.5-gstreamer installed. I have added repos that are supposed to include python2.5-gstreamer (maemo extras and Diablo maemo extras (Diable maemo extras won't refresh)) but i still can't install Panucci. I tried "apt-get install python2.5-gstreamer" but you have to be root and there is no root password (that i know of). I googled for a how-to or for some help and there is not much about getting it installed on the n810. All the pictures I have seen of the software running, always show it running on a n800. Is this app currently installable on the n810 without having to do major hacks to the device?
Thanks, galactus13
Re: Can't Get Panucci Installed
I believe that the Maemo repos are messed up. I haven't messed around with my N810 lately because of it. I did not have the problem with the python2.5-gstreamer package, but I might have already had it on there. Perhaps follow Pat's advice or ping the Maemo mailing list. The author of the software is there and you should find some help.
Also, I found that it was fairly straight forward to install ssh on the N810 and then anytime I need root access I just ssh to localhost as root. It also works equally well from other machines on the network. There are a few good how-tos on the subject you can google for.

Getting Panucci working
I talked about the install of Panucci on TLLTS Eps 276. You have to install sudo or root access. Then from the command line "sudo apt-get install panucci". That will install almost all of the dependencies. There's one package that's not pulled down. A Gnome-gconf module. Try launching panucci from the command line and you'll see the module name that's missing. It's the fault of the package maintainer to properly list all the dependencies. This is a FAIL for a regular user to get it going properly. Regarding the app itself, the bookmarks didn't work for ogg files. Only mp3 files.
